Let’s keep swimming…let’s keep swimming-Thailand

It definitely has been an amazing adventure.  I met such wonderful people on my tour and I have been inspired in such a way that I may spend the rest of the year exploring the rest of the world.

I have to say that Thailand really has beautiful beaches. We started our journey in Southern Thailand in Phuket and took day trips to places such as the Phi Phi Islands, James Bond island, and Krabi.

The beaches are pillow soft and the waters are crystal clear with a shade of green and blue mixed together.  The second leg of my trip is definitely more relaxing and feels more like a vacation.

Although I am not a strong swimmer, with a life jacket, I feel like I am top of the world (or maybe the bottom).  I really became fond of snorkeling and saw so many colorful fishes–striped ones, long tailed, and even..you guessed it..NEMO!  When I saw the fishes…I sang, “Let’s keep swimming…let’s keep swimming..” Yes, one would ask how do you do this? It’s actually easier than you think.

There were some crazy thunderstorms..and the area we stayed in Phuket was in the hills.  So after the storm, the ugliest bugs came out to greet me. It looked like a cross between a large ant and a roach.  Ugh…..I was greeted quite frequently in the elevators…in the bedroom..and in the staircase.  We eventually had to call the front desk and a little lady came in to spray the room.  Oh my…if you have not heard Jan scream…you would have a feast that day.

I am currently in Koh Samui- which is a bit closer to Bangkok. It is a small island, but has it’s charm.  We spent all day sitting under an umbrella and barely moved 20 feet to get a massage (which cost about $8 for one hour), eat lunch, and eat a snack from a local stand.

About Jan

In 2004 and 2010, I set aside time to travel the world in 3 parts. In 2004, I traveled to Thailand, Europe, and Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. In 2010, I traveled to 3 continents: Asia, South America, and Africa. I am not sure if I have a fascination with the number 3, but I seem to be constantly traveling by numbers.
